Former Federal minister(ppp’s cabinet) and SAPM(pti’s cabinet) Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was once considered a vital part of the government when she served vigorously in different influential capacities, the time when she bagged victory by defeating her opponent Chaudhry Ameer Hussain in NA-111(Sialkot). Then prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani greatly relied on her. This was not her first time to enter parliament’s building as a member but previously she had been a member on reserved seats nominated by pml(q) in 2002 general elections. She has seen her downfall since 2013 general elections, Armaghan Subhani(PML N) made electoral section of her political life a little tough by defeating her consecutively in 2013 and 2018 general elections. 2019 was comparatively a fine year for her when she saw a slight rise in her career’s graph. She suddenly appeared in the scene when she was notified as special assistant to prime minister on information and broadcasting despite opposition from some PTI’s party members as they thought including a non-parliamentarian in the cabinet would not be a decent choice to run a country where democracy exists.

However Prime minister Imran Khan confirmed her appointment assuring others that this decision would be beneficial one. It was only a year later when in April 2020 Principal secretary to the prime minister Muhammad Azam Khan a grade 22 officer in his office had a hard conversation with Firdous Ashiq Awan about reports of her misuse of official powers. However Dr. Firdous contradicted him by denying any such reports, she further added that she is only answerable to Prime minister Khan in such matters. Later cabinet division of government of Pakistan issued a notification regarding removal of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan and appointment of Shibli Faraz as federal information minister and lt. gen.(r) Asim Saleem Bajwa as special assistant to prime minister in information. It would be a little too early to predict that we have seen the last of Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan as the ecg report of Firdous apa’s career is not a straight line yet but many say that a rise in her career’s graph resembling that in PPP’s govt.(2008-2013) is highly unlikely. Who knows what is going to happen next
